One of the main recreational sites located in the
upper part of Central Park is the Lasker Rink.
Overlooking the Harlem Meer, it is known as
Lasker Rink when it features ice-skating and high
school hockey during the winter and then as Lasker Pool when it is converted into one huge
swimming pool during the summer.
Generally never as crowded as the Wollman Rink,
the Lasker Rink provides wintertime fun for many
locals in the area. A range of amenities is also
provided for the skaters, which include a
substantial deck area, locker facilities and a
concession stand.
