Honey Bear: E65
[Unveiled 1935]
Sculptor:
Frederick George Richard Roth
1872-1944 • USA

Right between the Delacorte Clock and
the Denesmouth Arch, hidden in an alcove
on the side of the Central Park Zoo that many move
past, stands the statue of Honey Bear.
Poised in a dance with his tongue extended
and curled for honey, five small frogs spout
water from their mouths into the base of
the fountain.
