Bank Rock Bay: W78
Bank Rock Bay is the narrow inlet of water
contained to the north of the Bank Rock Bridge
that spans this narrow terminus of the Lake.
At the turn of the century this extention of the
Lake led into a small pond called the Ladies Pond
which was used in the winter as a quiet ice
skating retreat for woman and young children
who preferred a quiet isolation to the contrasting
turmoil of the Lake that attracted multitudes of
skaters for the popular passtime.
Now Bank Rock Bay is a habitat for may
native and visiting species of birds as well as
the environment for many interesting trees
and aquatic plants.
